How It Works
- Add a JPG, PNG or WebP image. For a custom size, leave the preset unset and select px.
- Keep the aspect ratio locked to calculate the height automatically. To enter both dimensions, unlock it and choose whether to crop or fit the whole photo with white margins.
- Check the preview and the output dimensions, then download the resized image. For a batch, apply the same settings and download the results as a ZIP.
About Image Resizer & Dimension Changer
For a 150×200 px upload, unlock the aspect ratio and enter width 150 and height 200. Crop to fill if you can trim the edges; fit with white margins if the whole photo must stay visible.
To make a 4000×3000 px photo 1200×900 px, keep the aspect ratio locked and enter width 1200 px. To halve both dimensions instead, choose % and enter 50.
For a print layout, 35×45 mm at 300 DPI gives 413×531 pixels. The DPI setting converts physical dimensions to pixels; it does not guarantee the DPI metadata in the downloaded file. Use exact pixels when an upload form specifies them.
Images are processed in your browser. Resize up to 50 files at once, with up to 50 MB per input file. Each output is limited to 8192 px per side and 24 megapixels total. Enlarging a small original cannot recover detail.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I reduce or change the dimensions of an image without stretching it?
Keep «Keep aspect ratio» checked and enter your new Width in pixels (px) or percentage (%). The tool calculates the matching Height automatically. If you need a different aspect ratio (such as turning a 16:9 photo into a 1:1 square), uncheck «Keep aspect ratio» and select «Crop to fill (center)» or «Fit inside with white margins».
How do I get an exact 600×600 px US passport or visa photo?
The built-in «5×5 cm — US visa» preset calculates 50 mm at 300 DPI, which equals 591×591 px. If an online portal strictly requires 600×600 px (2×2 inches at 300 DPI), set Preset to «Custom», choose «px (pixels)», uncheck «Keep aspect ratio», enter 600 × 600, and set Fit method to «Crop to fill (center)».
What is the difference between «Crop to fill (center)» and «Fit inside with white margins»?
«Crop to fill (center)» (Cover mode) scales the image until the target box is completely filled and trims overflow from the edges. «Fit inside with white margins» (Contain mode) keeps the entire photo visible and adds solid white (#FFFFFF) bars where proportions differ.
Can I resize an image to a specific file size in KB?
This tool sets pixel dimensions. The file size also depends on the image and output format. For a size limit such as 100 KB, resize to the required dimensions first, then use Image Compressor and check the downloaded file.
Can I resize an image from a URL?
Because this resizer runs 100% locally in your browser without server-side URL fetching, save or copy the image from the URL to your device first, then drag and drop the file into the upload box.
Does changing Output format to JPG affect transparent PNGs?
Yes. JPG does not support alpha transparency, so transparent areas are filled with solid white (#FFFFFF). Keep «Same as original» or choose PNG or WebP to preserve transparency.
